Placing my order

How soon should I order?

You can reserve Maternity TENS as soon as you like. We deliver to your door at 37 weeks and do not take payment until then. Why not book now and tick another thing off your to-do list?

How late can I order?

Normal delivery is by standard post. If a Maternity TENS Rental Unit is required urgently, the checkout page will allow you to select a Royal Mail special delivery service for a small additional cost.

Is it stocked in stores?

Yes. You can either reserve online now for postal delivery and return, or go to a Boots store to reserve, collect and return your unit.  If you shop online, you will need a credit card, if you collect from the store, you will need to pay a deposit.


Cancellation of Order

Can I cancel my order?

If you cancel the Maternity TENS rental BEFORE it is sent out, then a full refund will be given. If you cancel AFTER the unit has been despatched then, even if it has not been used NO REFUND can be given. This is for reasons of hygiene as every unit, whether it has been used or not, will be refurbished on its return.


Getting my delivery

What do I do if the Maternity TENS does not arrive on schedule?

Phone the help line 0845 230 4647. we will send a replacement unit the next working day.

Where can you deliver?

To any address within mainland UK, and southern Ireland.

What does delivery cost?

Cost of delivery and return is included in the rental price.

How will my order be delivered?

By Royal Mail. In emergency, we offer Special Delivery for a small additional cost. Please select your choice of delivery on the checkout page.


Once I have my delivery

Can I return my goods to a Boots store?

No, returns must be posted back to us using the pre-paid envelope provided.

How early can the Maternity TENS be used?

At the first sign of any contractions

Should I practice using the Maternity TENS?

You are encouraged to try out the unit when it arrives, so that you are familiar with how it works and the sensation it produces. Remember, the pads are reuseable up to 30 times, as long as you store them correctly

Can the Maternity TENS be lent to a friend?

No, the Maternity TENS is for single patient use, for specific reasons of hygiene

Can I use a Maternity TENS if I am having a Caesarean?

Yes, the unit can be used during labour. It can also help with discomfort after the birth by placing the pads next to the scar on Programme A or B


Returning the Unit

How do I return the unit?

There are full instructions and a pre-paid envelope provided with the unit. Discard the pads and leads. Put the unit in the pre-paid envelope, and take it the post office. Ask for a “proof of posting”. This is free of charge and helps us to claim if the unit goes astray. If the machine goes missing and you can provide proof of posting, then you will not be liable for the full cost of the unit

What happens if the baby is late?

If the baby is late in arriving, a two-week FREE extension is offered. Simply call the Helpline on 0845 230 4647, quoting your name and postcode and the extension will be granted.

What happens if I lose the return paid addressed envelope?

You will need to purchase a padded bag and return the unit to us at your own expense to Tenscare.

Can I return the Maternity TENS Rental Unit to a Boots store?

No.  Although we use the same type of machine this Boots website operates entirely independently from the Boots in-store rental system

The goods you rent or buy from this site will be rented or purchased from Tenscare Ltd.
